What You Can Photograph

There are several ways a local animal shelter can use your photography skills to help promote its animals and the shelter itself.

The most important way you can help is by photographing the shelter animals themselves. In the last few years, we have photographed all kinds of dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and even roosters. Those of you in more rural areas may get an even more diverse group of animals to photograph.

Although this Website is dedicated to photographing shelter animals, there are usually many other subjects you can photograph to help the shelter. Some of these subjects include:

  • Fundraisers and special events
  • Board and staff members for newspaper and newsletter stories
  • Photography based fundraisers such as pet photos with Santa Claus (or Santa Paws as we call him) and the Easter Bunny

There are probably many other subjects you can photograph to help out your local shelter. If you have more ideas, please let me know at mark@furtography.com.
