Photographing
animals can be difficult. You can't tell them where to stand, how to hold
their head, or where to look. As if these weren't challenges enough, when
photographing shelter animals, you are working with animals to whom you
are a stranger, during a lonely and confused time of their life, and in
an environment that is new and often stressful to them.
Of course, it is these factors that you are trying to alleviate by volunteering
your time to help find these animals homes. By understanding these factors
and by learning to work around them, you can still accomplish good animal
photography at a shelter that really shares the beauty of these animals
